Enterprise Application Services (EAS) is in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) division at North Carolina State University. EAS is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, enhancement, & maintenance of the University’s enterprise business applications. This includes: development, operation, & maintenance of all enterprise administrative systems (Advancement, Research Administration, Financials, HR, Portal and Student Information Systems, etc.), configuration management, maintenance, enhancements, and application integration.
Essential Job Duties
The Developer for Enterprise Research Administration Systems (ERA) position will play a significant role in implementing and maintaining the core enterprise software infrastructure supporting the business processes of Research Administration across campus. This includes the setup, configuration, maintenance, upgrading, and testing of both internally developed and vendor supplied software, databases, and servers. The position will use programming and scripting languages to develop and enhance integrations between the vendor software and multiple campus enterprise systems. It will also provide technical support to ERA business analysts as they develop and implement various compliance and grant modules supporting the research process. Finally, this position will be involved in maintaining second tier customer support for all enterprise administration research software.
In addition, this position will assist with creating and maintaining application reporting and notifications, and will be involved in enhancing the user interface throughout the implementation and subsequent production period of the software suite. This will require working with business analysts, technical, and non-technical persons within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and across different Research Administration units on campus.

Other Responsibilities
This position will function as part of a team that configures and maintains access, roles and authorizations across a suite of research and compliance applications.
Minimum Education and Experience
Master’s degree and at least one year of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree with at least two years’ of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
Other Required Qualifications
* Strong experience with database (MS Sqlsvr, Oracle, MySql) querying and reporting using SQL.
* Experience programming with languages like PHP and Javascript (Ajax and JQuery).
* Experience using scripting languages to synchronize data across multiple systems both internally and remotely.
* Ability to independently, quickly, and efficiently identify and solve technical problems that can impact a large number of customers.
* Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
* Attention to detail and ability to form strong relationships between team members, customers, and management is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with SAS ETL and Visual Analytics programming
* Experience with InfoEd suite of software applications
* Experience with XML and XSLT stylesheets
* Experience with user interface development and best practice user interface design
* Excellent ability to document, perform unit, regression and system testing
* Excellent ability to configure, define workflow and other system processes
* Excellent verbal and written communication with both technical and non-technical users
