Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Performs administrative and professional architectural work by working with the Project Architect to assure that all Design Services projects are comprehensively documented for construction. The work includes all aspects of departmental functions related to assigned projects including design, field documentation, production of construction documents, and administrative tasks associated with completion of assigned projects. Assists the Project Architect in the development of design solutions based on program requirements and in the development of those designs into construction documents. Ensures that appropriate materials are selected for execution of designs and monitors cost and schedules related to the production of construction documents. Production of Construction Documents in a timely manner is of utmost importance and is the core responsibility of this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Architecture or a related field.

Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in architectural planning, design, and production of construction documents.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of all applicable codes.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction methods and materials, and methods of field surveying and documentation of existing conditions.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and make recommendations regarding designs, plans, and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently as well as coordinate and cooperate with other members of the design team.
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing.
  • Ability to interpret and carry out complex oral and written instructions including the reading and interpretation of construction documents and specifications.
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office suite. Ability to produce freehand sketches of proposed construction details or design solutions

The hiring salary range is: $73,964 – $92,456

Physical Demands

This work will be performed primarily in an office environment. Incumbent will be expected to make site visits, visit confined spaces. The incumbent may, at times, be required to wear personal protective equipment while visiting sites. This position is telework eligible of up to 1-2 times per week.
