Summary

The MacDougald lab is seeking a research lab tech to work on mouse lines that model a variety of developmental, metabolic, and functional aspects of adipose tissue biology. This individual will also help with the administrative and technical aspects of the MNORC adipose tissue core.

Responsibilities*

  • Will work with a team of grad students and postdocs to investigate aspects of adipose tissue biology using mouse models and human samples. The analyses will include histology, genotyping, dissections, metabolic measurements and much more. 
  • Will be responsible for the administrative and lab maintenance duties, like ordering lab supplies, updating the animal protocol, interacting with sales representatives, maintaining equipment, etc.…) 
  • Eventually supervise undergraduate students 

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree with 1 to 20 years of experience welcome to apply. Position offered with be commensurate with qualifications.

Research Lab Tech Associate:  HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 0-1 years’ experience required.

Research Lab Tech Intermediate: HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 1-3 years’ experience required. 

Research Lab Tech Senior: Bachelor’s Degree in Cell Biology/Biochemistry/ Physiology and 1-2 years’ experience required.

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Background Screening
