Essential Job Duties
The Department of Chemistry at NC State University seeks to fill a tenure track faculty position in the area of Computational/Theoretical Chemistry. Our priority is to fill a position at the Assistant Professor rank, although exceptional candidates at other ranks will be considered for Associate or Full Professor positions.
Successful candidates are expected to establish a nationally and internationally recognized research program and to demonstrate strong interests and abilities in teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates are also expected to provide service to the Department, University, and wider professional community as a committee member, referee, advisor, officer, or representative.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Candidates must possess a PhD in Chemistry or a related scientific field to be considered for this position.

- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Successful candidates must have a strong commitment to academic and research excellence, and an outstanding research record commensurate with the expectations of a major research university.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience engaging with diversity through activities such as fostering an inclusive environment, working with students from diverse backgrounds, or incorporating diverse perspectives in research.
- Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests complement existing programs and initiatives in the Department, College of Sciences, and University.
