Summary of Position

The Academic Engagement Program Manager serves in a key leadership role within the Center for Engagement and Assessment in the Granite State Division of the College of Professional Studies. The person in this position works collaboratively with the academic community in this division to support teaching excellence in online, hybrid, and blended instructional settings through the implementation and ongoing improvement of faculty development, faculty onboarding and communications , and academic engagement initiatives.

  • Experience in a college/university work environment working collaboratively with faculty to improve instructional engagement.
  • Teaching experience in online, mixed modal, and face-to-face environments.

Duty/Responsibility

Academic Engagement
  • Serve as main contact and resource for all faculty engagement activities and initiatives
  • Model a collaborative, team-based approach with the academic community – including administrators, faculty members, student and faculty services, vendors, and customers – on a range of issues that embrace evidence-informed educational engagement experiences and continuous improvement of educational quality
  • Hire, train, evaluate and supervise project faculty and volunteers/internships for academic engagement related work
  • Participate in the comprehensive course development process with a specific focus on the experience of faculty in instructional design processes
  • Devise and implement new procedures to facilitate monitoring and improvements in academic engagement as required
  • Propose new short- mid-and long-range interventions based on academic engagement data to continuously enhance students’ educational experience
  • Prepare presentations, publications, reports, and records on program activities, progress, and events

Duty/Responsibility

Faculty Development, Communications and Engagement
  • Design and execute online self-paced and virtual live faculty development programming on pedagogy, best practices for online teaching, and teaching strategy for all faculty
  • Manage the Faculty Professional Learning Community at in the Granite State division of the College in collaboration with the adjunct and full-time faculty lead
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute new initiatives and projects for teaching excellence in the online division
  • Regularly review all faculty related policies and procedures and make recommendations and determine changes in collaboration with the head of the Center for Engagement and Assessment and the Academic Affairs Leadership Team
  • Develop and oversee implementation of the faculty communication strategy on a term and yearly basis
  • Work with the Academic Affairs Leadership Team to communicate policy changes and provide input, as needed or required
  • Manage all ongoing faculty communications and resources, such as the website and online faculty community, micro-credentials, weekly communications, and periodic faculty updates
  • Provide effective project management coordination and team motivation while building and enhancing relationships with all stakeholders of the academic community
  • Perform assessments and research related to academic engagement (faculty, student, and instructional aspects) and communicate results to relevant stakeholders
