Summary of Position

The University of New Hampshire invites applications for a tenure-track position in Security Studies at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor who will support the National Security Intelligence Analysis (NSIA) online graduate degree, National Security Intelligence (NSI) online undergraduate minor, and New England Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence program (IC CAE).

UNH is designated as an Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence with a mission to prepare and hire the next generation of diverse and qualified intelligence professionals.

The successful candidate will teach, conduct research resulting in published scholarly works, and contribute professional service to the department, college, university, and professional communities. This position will assist in student advising, recruiting efforts, orientation, and other activities to support UNH national security intelligence and IC CAE programs.

This position has an anticipated start date of August 2023.

The successful candidate will teach a 3/3 load of classes as designated by the program coordinator. NSIA classes (see: https://catalog.unh.edu/graduate/course-descriptions/nsia) and NSI Minor classes may be found in the UNH course catalog. Other essential duties include curriculum design and development, online teaching, online program development, committee participation, and duties designed to support the New England Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence programs.
This is a nine-month, academic year position, with the possibility of summer teaching or research assignments.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

An earned doctorate in a discipline related to National Security is required. Candidates must have experience working in an intelligence or national security related position. Experience teaching online is required. A record of security studies scholarship is required.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching in professional and/or graduate security studies programs, including graduate course development; online undergraduate and/or graduate course and program development is strongly preferred. Experience working within the IC CAE program is preferred.
