Summary

OPEN (Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network) works with physicians, public health experts, policy makers, and payers to positively impact the opioid epidemic through improved prescribing and pain management. We aim to prevent opioid-related harms throughout the state and beyond through data-driven research, evidence-based pain management recommendations, development of education and resources for patients and providers, and community engagement. 
 
We are currently seeking a Grant Program Manager to join our expanding team. The Grant Program Manager will partner with OPEN's leadership, Program Coordinators, and Research Assistants (RA's) to advance the portfolio of initiatives within our organization. This position is dedicated to managing the Program Management Team and overseeing multiple projects, grants, and communications.

Responsibilities*

Overall Program Support
Assisting the OPEN Program and leadership by participating in and contributing to: 
- Ongoing key programmatic and project specific meetings to further the strategic direction/mission of OPEN.
- Strategic organizational and project specific meetings to inform the content and direction of OPEN Initiatives
- Decision-making regarding projects, programs and initiatives that support the objectives established by senior leadership
- Participation in grant development, submissions and amendments 
 
OPEN Grant Management
Responsible for providing Grant Program Management expertise on behalf of OPEN to include:
- Managing grant reporting for the full OPEN portfolio 
- Inform and advocate for strategic initiatives within existing and future sponsored project plans 
- Develop and advise on proposal plans to further OPEN initiatives 
- Lead across OPEN teams to determine plans, timelines and schedules for deliverable reporting to meet specific grant requirements.
- Ensure OPEN is meeting federal, state, foundational, private payer and other stakeholder standards, project deliverables, and reporting requirements
- Manage the accurate and timely submission of grant reports weekly, monthly quarter, annually.
- Continue developing, evaluating and implementing project reporting systems to manage the tracking and analyses of work accomplished. 
 
Grant Program Team Management
Responsible for planning, organizing, managing and conducting multiple complex grant funded programs and deliverables within OPEN to include:
- Direct supervision and management of staff to include recruitment, hiring, and training in executing all grant supported program needs and tasks in support of the OPEN program. 
- Ensure compliance with diverse hiring, appropriate training and orientation, and compliant off boarding practices.
- Management, performance, and completion of the grant program team and projects
- Lead project plan development, tracking, execution, assessment and stakeholder reporting
- Formulate and manage implementation methods, tools and develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Suggest options for improving quality, identify potential problems, recommend and implement solutions
- Supervise data collection and verification, and project analysis, interpretation and presentation
- Conduct project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
- Manage the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables  
- Takes projects from original concept through completion and ensure project deliverables are met within the timeline and budget for current initiatives  

Required Qualifications*

Senior Level: Bachelor degree and more than four years of experience. 

Intermediate Level: Bachelor degree and more than two years of experience. 

Desired Qualifications*

Master's degree and considerable professional experience
Prior management, supervisory and team leader experience
Familiarity with grant reporting and OPENs portfolio of initiatives and stakeholders

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
