The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Cook 1 within Legends. The UEE division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
The Cook 1 supports daily operations as part of the culinary production team, and is responsible for completing assignments related to cooking and food preparation including, but not limited to; Following recipes, cutting (knife skills), portioning, weighing, measuring, safe prep, and storage of food in accordance with standards of food service industry, and hospitality. This is an entry level culinary position with the opportunity to learn and develop skills to further a career in the culinary arts.

This position is with University Enterprises and Events at the University of Notre Dame and is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus (1/2 paid after 90 and 180 days of continuous employment). Candidates are only eligible if they are a new employee to the University – current Notre Dame employees who transfer are not eligible. Other rules and conditions apply.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Passion for working in hospitality industry, specifically food service environments. Relevant skills and experience applicable, ability to complete University Culinary assessment.
- Ability to deliver upon the UEE global service standards, and pillars of hospitality.
