Associate Vice President of Student Affairs
LOCATION: NDSCS - Wahpeton
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, 12-month

JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate Vice President of Student Affairs (AVPSA) has the opportunity and responsibility to lead and guide the Student Affairs (SA) division in continued enrollment growth, and to provide world-class customer service to our students. The AVPSA will be a transformative, student-centered leader capable of managing change and building collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
While providing leadership and general supervision to the entire division, the AVPSA will collaborate with colleagues across all NDSCS to build an inviting environment, one that is built to serve students. The AVPSA will assist the President, as needed, in the development and implementation of college strategy and initiatives. The AVPSA will be a strong advocate of the mission of NDSCS and all NDSCS students.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Provide leadership, strategy, and operational support for the Student Affairs (SA) division, including setting the tone and vision to provide world-class customer service to both current and prospective students, establishing enrollment goals and strategies, and other areas that have an impact on student life. Anticipated areas of responsibility include:
- Admissions and Recruiting
- Registrar’s Office
- Financial Aid
- Student & Residential Life
- NDSCS Police
- Dining Services
- Student Health & Wellness
- Provide budget management and oversight for all areas of division.
- Manage, plan, and budget human resource functions of division.
- Develop strategic plan for the SA division.
- Serve as Title IX Coordinator.
- Proactively integrates Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices into all Student Affairs programs, services, and interpersonal interactions.
- Provide leadership for all SA policies, goals, objectives, and initiatives.
- Lead, and be actively engaged in, process for continuous improvement for the SA division.
- Review and act upon appropriate student grievances and appeals.
- Serve as a member of the President’s Advisory Council, advising the President on important matters relating to Student Affairs.
- Participate and collaborate with NDUS organizations on initiatives and planning opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned by the President.

SALARY: $125,000 - $130,000 - Commensurate with education and experience
Minimum Requirements
- Must support the mission, vision and values of North Dakota State College of Science
- Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Higher Education Leadership, or other relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years of full-time professional supervisory/leadership experience in an educational setting in positions of increasing responsibility to include Student Affairs functions.
- Strategic planning experience.
- Experience managing large, multi-faceted budgets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in Educational Administration, Higher Education Leadership, counseling, or related discipline.
- Ten (10) years of full-time Student Affairs leadership experience in a Community College.
- Knowledge and understanding of North Dakota University System policies and procedures related to Student Affairs.
