About the role:

 

Takeda Pharmaceuticals is hiring interns for summer 2023! Are you looking for a patient-focused company that empowers you to shine?

The Takeda Summer Internship Program is a 12-week experience where you will sharpen your skills through a variety of activities at a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing site. At the end of the internship, you will have gained valuable experience at a top pharma company, an in-depth understanding of concepts taught in school, and a network to help you develop as a professional in the industry. This role is designed to challenge interns and contribute to their future careers.

 

Department Opportunities:

The following departments are offering internships at our Above Site locations:

  • Engineering- support our manufacturing environment by troubleshooting machines, designing floor plans, calculating life cycles of manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting, working with the distillation process, etc.,

  • Qualityensure adherence and deployment of quality systems such as batch record review, product release, change control, exception management, and product annual reviews.

  • Manufacturing- responsible for learning, understanding, and leading manufacturing processes or team and support systems that ensure quality and safe delivery of product

  • Manufacturing Sciences- work with the manufacturing floor to create process optimization, yield development, feasibility studies, and cycle time reductions.

  • IT- support in the manufacturing site in all information technology needs such as hardware and software installation. Work on projects involving manufacturing software and coding. Requires enrollment in: Information Technology or related technical field

  • Finance- Plant finance forecasts, monitors and analyzes financial implications of operational activities at the Los Angeles site. Partner with all functions across the site, including but not limited to, manufacturing, quality, engineering, supply chain, etc., to support decision making, providing performance insights through analysis of both financial and non-financial metrics

 

Timeline of Program:

  • Two start dates: May 15th or June 26th

  • Expected completion of the internship is August or early September, depending on start date.

 

What you bring to Takeda:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be pursuing an Associate’s, Bachelor's, or Master degree

  • 3.0 GPA or higher

 


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs.

  • Combination of sedentary work and standing/walking observation

 


Work Environment:

  • Depending on the department, you may work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Gowning requirements include a wearing protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.

  • May work in a cold, wet environment

  • Can work several shifts, including weekends.

  • Work several shifts and overtime may be necessary.

  • May be asked to work in a confined area.

  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.
