Full Job Description

Approximately 300 youth in Dane County, Wisconsin go to bed homeless each night.

Briarpatch Youth Services plays a critical role supporting these youth, with the only shelter for unaccompanied runaway and homeless youth in the Madison, Wisconsin metro area.

Briarpatch is hiring a CEO & Executive Director to lead this essential work.

Summary of job responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Culture: Cultivate and embody an organization that is innovative, diverse and equitable.
  • Organization Mission and Strategy: Connect programming to the 2022 Strategic Plan to achieve the agency’s mission.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate Briarpatch’s inclusive mission and environment to meet the needs of all youth and maintain effective relationships with the community.
  • Financial Performance and Viability: Ensure the fiscal health of the organization.
  • Board Relationship: Partner with the Briarpatch Board of Directors to achieve the mission of the organization.
  • Operations: Effectively administer agency operations.

Summary of experience sought:

  • 10+ years of nonprofit experience in a human services or youth development setting, that includes leadership experience building teams, is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaboratively manage and lead change, with strong cultural diplomacy skills.
  • Demonstrated financial management abilities including fundraising, grant management, and budget oversight.
  • Ability to manage, supervise, motivate, inspire and mentor staff of a similar or larger number than the staff at Briarpatch.
  • Comfortable and skilled as a spokesperson and face of the organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
