Summary

The Department of Middle East Studies invites applications for a part-time Iranian Lecturer I appointment beginning January 1, 2023. The selected candidate will teach two courses. The effort calculation for each course is 33.33%; the total appointment will be 66.67%. The appointment will be for one semester. This is a benefits-eligible position.

Responsibilities*

The successful candidate will teach two special topics courses dedicated to modern Iranian studies and Orientalism, including curriculum development, producing quality and innovative teaching materials, and active involvement in teamwork and program affairs.

Required Qualifications*

The successful candidate must have a master’s degree in a relevant field of study.

Desired Qualifications*

Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.  Further preference will be given to applicants who are familiar with teaching college-level courses in the field of Middle East Studies, Comparative Literature, and Iranian Studies, specifically.
