POSITION DESCRIPTION
Taft College is seeking a qualified candidate with demonstrated counseling skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and staff to provide high quality programs and services for our students. Under the general supervision of the Dean of Student Services, the licensed counselor provides mental health counseling and is able to begin this assignment on August 15, 2022.

 
 
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A successful candidate must be licensed in one of the areas listed below:
 
  • Marriage and Family Therapist
  • Clinical Social Worker
  • Professional Clinical Counselor
  • Educational Psychologist
 
Successful candidate must show a demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide short-term mental health counseling for a diverse population of students with the goal of maximizing success in the college setting.
 
Provide crisis assessment and intervention.
 
Assist with the development of a mental health program for the Taft College campus.
 
Assist with the development of a plan for campus consultation and outreach.
 
Implement professional development for Taft College faculty and staff on mental health awareness.
 
Other related duties as assigned.

 
 
HOURS/DATES: As needed basis up to 12 hours per week for the academic year.
 
COMPENSATION $65.46-$76.92 per hour.
