About This Role:
The Department of Personal Financial Planning, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is currently seeking a 12-month Professor of Practice or Teaching Assistant Professor to serve as Program Director , leading the growth of a new program at the K-State Olathe campus.

This position presents the opportunity to create an on-campus financial planning program in Kansas City that is an extension of the Manhattan-based program and possesses strong industry support. The successful candidate will serve as the inaugural program director, working collaboratively with the Department Head of Personal Financial Planning and the Associate Dean of Academic and Research Programs at K-State Olathe to build a program that meets market demands.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Provide leadership in the development of the program on the K-State Olathe campus
Cultivate and support relationships with industry partners
Facilitate collaboration between the department and the K-State Olathe campus
Teach online and/or on-campus courses as required for the B.S. and M.S. program
Recruit and mentor undergraduate and/or graduate students
Provide service to the department, college, and university
This 12-month, non-tenure track position at the rank of professor of practice or teaching assistant professor has a preferred starting date of May 2023 , with a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The College of Health and Human Sciences is home to six academic departments (Applied Human Sciences; Food, Nutrition, Dietetics & Health; Hospitality Management; Interior Design & Fashion Studies; Personal Financial Planning; and Kinesiology), the Center on Aging, and the Physician Assistant program. In addition, the college received approval from the Kansas Board of Regents to serve as a satellite location for the WSU nursing program. What You'll Need to Succeed: Minimum Requirements:
Earned M.S. (by start date) in Personal Financial Planning, Consumer Economics, Finance, or a closely related field
Demonstrated content expertise to teach core classes in the Personal Financial Planning curriculum
Ability to work effectively with undergraduate and graduate students in a multidisciplinary environment
Demonstrated experience providing leadership to a team
In addition to the requirements listed, to be considered for the rank of Professor of Practice, applicants must have substantial practice experience; to be considered for the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor, applicants much have a terminal degree in a related area

Preferred Qualifications:
Earned CFP marks
Ability to promote relationships with industry partners
Additional relevant professional designations or licenses
Relevant practitioner experience
Earned Ph.D. (by start date) in Personal Financial Planning, Consumer Economics, Finance, or a closely related field
Active membership in relevant professional organizations, such as:
Association of Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE)
Financial Planning Association (FPA)
Financial Therapy Association (FTA)

Other Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
