Assistant Professor of Practice Professor in Marketing

Job Description

The School of Business at the University of Indianapolis seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor of Practice in Marketing. This is a full-time, nine-month, faculty position with the desired start date of January 2023. This position is a fixed-term position with the possibility of reappointment.

Teaching requirements could consist of courses in Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research, International Marketing, Sales, or Digital Marketing at either the undergraduate or MBA level. The normal teaching load is 24 semester hours per academic year. Summer teaching may be available on a separate contract basis.

Teaching may be in person, hybrid, or fully online modalities. Service to the School and University is also a requirement of this position. The position may also involve business outreach efforts. Professors of Practice are also expected to pursue continuing education to maintain professional competence.

  • Master's degree required, Ph.D. in Marketing or a closely related field is desirable
  • Master’s degree with sufficient coursework in Marketing will be considered in lieu of a Ph.D., provided the candidate has significant professional experience in Marketing or a related role
  • Prior experience in applied consulting or work experience in the field is also desirable
  • A minimum of 2 years prior teaching experience at a post-secondary institution is required
  • Ability to work in the United States
