Job Description:

The Division of Career and Technical Education and Business, invites applications for anticipated adjunct faculty vacancies for the Spring 2023 teaching Early College (EC) business and marketing courses with partnering school districts.

Marketing - MKT101 Introduction to Marketing

Entrepreneurship - ENT100 Introduction to Entrepreneurship

Campus Location: Early College High Schools / Virtual / Lynn / Danvers

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-4 (varies by course section - see below)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach one or more sections in the business department.
  • Prepare course syllabi that meet all contractual requirements.
  • Schedule classes to meet for the allotted time on every scheduled meeting day during the semester.
  • Cover all department course outcomes
  • Employ effective instructional strategies including video conference teaching that promotes student learning.
  • Use appropriate assessment tools to accurately measure student understanding of class subject matter.
  • Monitor email communications from students and the college, and respond in a timely manner.
  • Contact dean or advising staff as necessary regarding student issues.
  • Meet all deadlines for submission of grades, student participation reports, student grievance responses and other administrative documentation.
  • Engage in a high-level of collaboration/communication with the respective high school teacher liaisons.

 Requirements:

  • Master of Business Administration or a closely related business degree field is required, for marketing course(s) a degree focused in marketing is highly desired
  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred; teaching experience in higher education and/or at the community college level is strongly preferred
  • Experience teaching online/hybrid and/or embedding the use of technology into the curriculum preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish (desired)
  • A commitment to and experience working with a diverse student body is also required
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment


COVID VACCINATION REQUIREMENT:
Candidates for employment should be aware that all North Shore Community College students, faculty and staff are required to be fully vaccinated by January, 2022. Accordingly, initial employment is dependent upon receipt and verification of full vaccination status records; details of how to fulfill vaccine record verification requirements will be provided during the hire and onboarding process.

 


Additional Information:

Salary: Adjunct salaries are dependent upon the number of credit hours. Salary for the courses MKT101 and BUS100 will be $3,396/course for first time faculty. This is a non-benefited, MCCC position.

 

Starting Date: Spring 2023 semester
