Overview

Responsible for numerous general accounting functions that involve preparation, analyses, reconciliation, interpretation, and maintenance of the Institute's general accounting records and accounting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for opening and closing the Cashier Office, reconciling and distributing petty cash, daily cash deposits and distributing monthly T-Passes, Cab Vouchers and Loan Checks.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and operation of systems and processes to support the activities and goals of Financial Operations.
  • Work with pertinent departments to research and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and analyses, as required, to support the monthly general ledger closing process.
  • Responsible for providing detailed reconciliations and analyses for assigned duties and special projects. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience, preferably in the health care industry.  
  • Requires technical and professional accounting skills; strong reconciliation skills; the ability to develop and maintain computer-based, automated accounting systems, accounting procedures and control; familiarity with policies and procedures related to responsibilities; possesses the appropriate oral and written communication skills to train and advise others.
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must also demonstrate the ability to work independently and also be committed to working closely with others in a team-oriented approach.
  • Must possess a customer-service philosophy.
  • Must be able to handle problem solving, and issue resolution.
  • Must be able to work as a team member.
  • Must bring issues and concerns to the attention of the Manager of General Accounting or the Controller.
