Job Description

RECRUITER, Resource Development and Alumni Association-Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management (HR-STM), to be responsible for the execution of diversity outreach, engagement, and recruiting activities.  Will manage the complete recruitment life cycle, including sourcing, developing diverse candidate pipelines, writing job descriptions, advertising, screening and interviewing, guiding the selection processes, checking references, negotiating salaries, and onboarding new hires.  

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; three years’ recruitment experience; knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) hiring best practices and experience and success sourcing and building diverse talent pools; excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills for establishing trust and credibility with candidates, hiring managers, external vendors/partners, and staff at all levels; ability to manage a heavy recruiting load with competing demands and demonstrate a sense of urgency in filling roles; strong writing, analytical, project management, negotiation, presentation, problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team member; proficiency with MS Office and applicant tracking systems; experience using social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn) for recruitment; ability to create and deliver DEI recruitment training; experience using recruitment data and reports to identify trends and make recommendations; discretion with confidential information; and support for MIT’s commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.  Seek a self-motivated, results-driven, and detail-oriented individual who is flexible, and has a track record of enhancing processes, implementing new ways of doing things, and leading a culture of continuous improvement as it relates to sourcing and recruitment and attracting the best talent, with a focus on diversity hiring.  PREFERRED:  experience in advancement or higher education and with developing and facilitating search committees.  Job #20875-7


This is a two-year term appointment.

This position will be hybrid, with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
