Mail AssistantJob Description
Pick-up mail from the Notre Dame Post Office and deliver to departments and buildings according to a designated and regular daily schedule. To perform this task with responsibility and to be accountable for accuracy. Make sure mail is handled in a secure manner and delivered to the designated location in each building. Assist in any area of production of mail within the mail center. Provide excellent customer service to all faculty, staff, and students.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
Valid Driver’s License with excellent driving record.
Must be able to lift 75 lbs., load and unload boxes and bags of mail on and off of dock areas, and onto hand trucks. must be able to maneuver van in and out of narrow entrance ways safely. maintain excellent communication with students and staff, and present a professional attitude to customers at all times. Ability to maintain schedules and deadlines. Ability to learn to operate metering equipment and understand basic Postal Regulations. Work alternating schedule to accommodate Saturday and Holiday hours. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, Snow/ice, rain/wind, or extreme hot and cold temperatures.
