The University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for an instructor, non-tenure track position in the Accounting Program. Candidates are required to possess an earned Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting or a closely related field. The College of Business and Security Management is accredited by the AACSB. Duties:

 

1-75%Teach five to seven courses at the undergraduate and graduate level during the academic year; create new course curriculum for in-person and online courses; incorporate experiential learning into the curriculum; prepare syllabi consistent with UAF guidelines; hold regular office hours; and participate in assurance of learning.Essential
25%Engage in university, professional, and/or community service; participate in student recruiting and other events related to the College of Business and Security Management; may serve as an advisor to a student organization.Essential

Candidates are required to possess an earned Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or a closely related field. Candidates must be able to teach accounting both in-person and online. Candidates with industry experience in accounting are preferred.

Primary duties are to teach five to seven courses per year at the undergraduate/graduate level. Outstanding teaching and excellent communication skills are required. Candidates will participate in departmental and university service and engage in continuing professional development and research. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Accounting. Successful applicants should have a portfolio of current relevant work experience in Accounting. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching both online and in the classroom.

Typical Experience:
Candidates should have current and relevant work experience in Accounting. CPA and/or CIA preferred.

Required Education or Training:

Candidates are required to possess an earned Bachelor of Accounting or a related degree. Master's degree preferred.


Salary Information:

This is a 9-month, full-time appointment with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Salary is based on UNAC Grade 40, and is dependent on education and experience.
