Part-time Faculty Positions

 

DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

Responsibilities:

The School of Computing at DePaul University invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track faculty position in health informatics. Candidates at all levels are encouraged to apply. Well-qualified senior candidates will be considered for offers with tenure.

We seek candidates who have expertise and experience in the areas of health informatics, healthcare information systems or health analytics. More experienced candidates will be expected to lead the health informatics master’s program, including seeking CAHIIM accreditation for the program. We expect the successful candidate to teach courses in health informatics and maintain an active research program. The university supports research through a robust internal research program. The school has active research groups in bioinformatics, biomedical informatics, information systems, data science, AI, machine learning, information security, and others. Other allied programs at the University, including the Health Sciences program (College of Science and Health) and the Health Sector Management concentration in the MBA program (Kellstadt Graduate School of Business), offer opportunities for collaboration. DePaul also has established research partnerships with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Rush University, and Sinai Health System.

DePaul’s School of Computing offers a broad range of degree programs including Health Informatics, Data Science, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Cyber Physical Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, and others. The School of Computing includes over 65 full-time faculty, more than 3,000 undergraduate majors and graduate students, and offers nine bachelor’s and fourteen master's programs as well as a PhD program. Required Qualifications:

Applicants should have a doctorate in Health Informatics or a related field.
