Job Description

Responsibilities include:
  • Retention (Event Planner for Team-Building Activities for Students)
  • Contacts vendors and arranges payment for weekly team-building events
  • Arranges transportation for all events
  • Notifies students of event details, collect payments & attendance
  • Attend or arranges faculty chaperones and weekly events
  • Coordinates Monthly Professional Networking Events for students
  • Organizes Faculty/Student Town Hall Meetings
  • Conducts surveys to collect student feedback
  • Facilitate and sponsor/oversee business student clubs and organization – point of contact

Internships and Job Placement Events
  • Coordinates with corporate partners to arrange on-campus visits
  • Primary contact with Career Services to facilitate student interviews/internships
  • Maintains internship and job placement data in coordination with Career Services

Summer Programs including the Summer Leadership Academy
  • Assist in recruiting students for the Business Honors Program and the Summer Leadership Academy
  • Creates application and marketing materials
• Executes mass mailings to over 10,000 high schools for nominations • Serves as primary point of contact for students and parents
  • Manages applicant database, including accept/reject letters
  • Coordinates all planning of Summer Leadership Academy (SLA)
  • Manages each session of the SLA along with Director & coordinates Faculty participation
  • Collects waivers, code of conduct, and emergency contact information
  • Coordinates with the college to reserve space, order food, and provide RA
  • Recruiting (Constant Communication to Drive Business Honors Recruits to Open Houses)
  • Collects and maintains data for prospective students
  • Acts as liaison between Admissions, PACT, Residential Life, and incoming students
  • Coordinate faculty and student representation at Open House events
  • Directs event planning for School of Business Events, Undergraduate Open Houses, Business Honors Open Houses, and Accepted Student Day Events in SBUS
  • Work directly with the Business Honors Director with said planning and providing support and point of contact to BH Students and prospective students

Management
  • Supervises Administrative Staff and student workers in the School of Business
  • Organizes team meetings and provides clear division of duties
  • Point of contact for staff in the School of Business
  • Manages the Trading Room and all events/visitors
  • Liaison between Dean’s Office and UG and Graduate Business operations
  • Serve as the budget coordinator for the School of Business
Qualifications
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required, working knowledge of Banner, Argos, Adobe Pro strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field or a master's degree is required
  • Minimum of two years of related business or professional experience required

The Mercy College Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:
Deferred Compensation Plan
All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the College.
Defined Contribution Plan
Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy College and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.
If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy College, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources. The Defined Contribution will begin as of the first day of the month following receipt of the completed waiver form.
