What you’ll do

The grants & administrative coordinator will be a key member of the advancement team, helping to secure sustainment funding for CVN and Cohen Clinics across the country. Duties will include providing administrative support, spearheading grant management, and tracking deliverables for grants, direct allocations, and charitable contributions. This position will also serve as a liaison to CVN’s finance and data teams to improve and maintain internal tracking processes. The grants & administrative coordinator position will support the full advancement department and report directly to the Vice President of Government Initiatives.
Specifically, you will:

  • Work with advancement staff to implement and execute the organization’s multipronged fundraising strategy to meet year-end goals.
  • Maintain databases and systems for recording and tracking grant proposals, awards, and related statistical information, specifically within Salesforce and Smartsheet.
  • Support the advancement team with data entry of key actions and notes within reporting systems and provide support for gift processing and acknowledgement letters.
  • Assist in developing, organizing, writing, and submitting grant proposals, applications, and reports.
  • Develop a calendar of upcoming application and reporting deadlines. Maintain a portfolio of active and pending grants and provide monthly status reports.
  • Monitor and coordinate the administration of post-award grants to ensure that budgeting and administrative policies, procedures, and requirements are being followed.
  • Maintain currency of knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

What’s required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of grant coordinating experience, preferably for nonprofits.
  • Experience working in government or development/fundraising department preferred
  • Database management skills, specifically Salesforce and Smartsheet
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to

devise and develop statistical analyses and reports.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.
  • Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state,

federal regulations.

  • Strong technical skills including Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
  • Some travel required
