Organizes, manages and coordinates an instructional laboratory operation with faculty to support Instructional effectiveness.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
Trains and supervises part-time employees assigned to the laboratory
Maintains inventory records and an accurate accountability for all supplies, materials, equipment and software computer packages in multiple labs
Researches and purchase specialized items for Construction and Surveying Labs
Recommends purchases and monitors expenditures for items suited for multiple laboratories
Designs and implements sound operational policies and procedures for the laboratory
Evaluates effectiveness of operational policies and procedures
Write reports and maintains summaries of lab usage
Develops instructional objectives, plans and assessment tools for the area of responsibility
Provides instruction, advisement and assistance to students to supplement instructional program and facilitate the achievement of educational goals
Prepares lesson outline and plans in assigned area
Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids and materials
Plans, organizes, and coordinates lab activities
Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role-playing
Prepares, administers, and grades examinations
Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts
Develops informational materials describing laboratory services
Provides tutoring and mentoring services to students as needed
Establishes and implements policies and procedures for lab operation
Inspects all safety and emergency equipment and supplies to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Teaches classes daily
Service Excellence
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College
*Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree
Three (3) years of experience with extensive knowledge and/or experience in the specialized field
One (1) year of experience supervising employees (e.g., managing and evaluating the performance of others)

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree
Courses in the specialized field or equivalent knowledge and experience
