Event and Administrative Coordinator - DNA Learning CenterJob Description
The DNA Learning Center is an outreach center located in the College of
Science. We are looking for a dynamic person that is organized, positive, and
enthusiastic about embracing learning new things and meeting challenges. This
unique role is a 30 hours a week and eligible for full time benefits. This
position would work with the Director of the DNA Learning Center in a variety of
tasks, including summer program management and marketing, creation of promotional
materials and social media updates, event coordination of visits to the Center, and other tasks necessary for the Center to run smoothly. The DNA Learning Center works with numerous partners across campus and the community and this person would be responsible for working with and
representing the Center to these groups. In addition to helping organize events, this person
would also play a key role in assisting events run smoothly. Because of the
variety of activities at the Center, there are a number of evolving tasks and would require adaptability and openness to learning new skills when necessary. Post-COVID19 has resulted in new challenges and adaptations and will require a flexibility to ongoing policy changes.
This position would work closely with the Director of the DNA Learning Center. A
successful applicant will understand the balance between independence and
initiative and working closely with their supervisor to accept direction as needed.
No science knowledge is necessary for this position, but openness and
excitement about learning some science knowledge is encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications
Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
Ability and Willingness to learn new skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a flexible/adaptable work atmosphere
