The Digital Studio Department Coordinator is part of the Creative Computing Group and is housed within the Department of Art, Art History and Design in Riley Hall. The Digital Studio is an educational, hands-on, state-of-the-art digital facility open to all students, staff and faculty within the College of Arts and Letters. This position oversees the Digital Studio facilities and adjacent Multimedia Studio, also operated by the Creative Computing Group. This position collaborates with students, staff and faculty in the arts, humanities, and social sciences to ensure the Digital Studio meets their needs for digital imaging. This position hires, trains and manages a small staff of students to work in the Digital Studio during the academic year. This position provides studio oversight including coordinating the studio budget, managing vendor contracts and tracking inventory. In addition, this position provides equipment training workshops as needed and recommends facility development ideas.
The Digital Studio Department Coordinator has the essential duties and responsibilities of:
- Studio Management: Purchase supplies and studio equipment, identify areas for improvement and implement processes as needed; keep the studio well organized and neat in appearance; assist the CCG’s computer engineers with regular supervision, maintenance and upgrades to computer facilities; Work collaboratively in conjunction with the other staff to support the needs of the department; provide recommendations for the studio’s vision, facility growth and program development
- Budget: Monitor the financial status of the studio by accessing GLez and when necessary, communicating with Accounting; verify amounts and prepare check requisitions, etc.; manage vendor contracts; budgeting and forecasting the department’s expenses in ARP.
- Studio space oversight: Provide routine maintenance to equipment, track inventory, ensure equipment is functioning; troubleshoot printing, scanning and offer technical support
- Equipment Training: Develop custom equipment training workshops, provide training to students and faculty on digital studio equipment as needed
- Student Staff Oversight: Hire, train, schedule and manage a small staff of undergraduate students to work in the digital studio during the academic year
This is a full-time, 10-month position.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (4 years), Fine Arts or Arts preferred
- 1-2 years experience
- Candidates must have demonstrated experience with current digital imaging technologies and digital workflow solutions in creative work of design, photography or studio art.
- Requires understanding of Canon and Epson professional inkjet printers, Adobe Creative Suite software, scanners, cameras, inkjet media, vinyl cutters, laser cutters, 3-D Printers, peripherals, and the ability to troubleshoot printing, and scanning.

- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
