NDR is currently searching for a talented individual interested in the dynamic field of business management. We are seeking a Business Management Associate (BMA) to support NDR’s Finance & Administration (F&A) team. The F&A team supports NDR’s $60M operating budget, which includes over 350 faculty, staff, and students. The BMA will work under the direction of the F&A Program Director to assist with numerous business operations functions and will provide staffing and position management support, including all of the centers and institutes that fall under NDR’s portfolio. The BMA will provide input on current processes and recommend possible improvements. Given the wide scope and diversity of the NDR portfolio, the F&A team is often involved in special projects, and the BMA will contribute to many of these special projects. These will be your key areas of responsibility:

Staffing and Position Management Assistance
  • Guide the position management process. Serve as the first point of contact for NDR hiring requests. Assist hiring managers with position description development. Onboard new managers to the hiring process.
  • Work directly with Human Resources (HR) Talent Acquisition Specialists and NDR hiring managers to get positions posted, monitor candidate pools, review draft offers for adherence to HR and NDR policies, enter PAFs and separations, track all open positions and ensure positions are closed out in a timely and professional way.
Business Operations Assistance
  • Track funding commitments. This will include requesting new funds, recording commitments in spreadsheets, monitoring spending, processing journal vouchers, and communicating with faculty about their awards.
  • Work with program director on annual budget planning.
  • Analyze regularly generated financial and HR reports. Identify when necessary actions need to be taken.
    • Prepare and submit payment requests, expense reports, labor distribution changes, and journal vouchers.
Faculty Appointment Data Management
  • Assist with the facilitation of faculty appointments. Collect faculty appointment forms, draft appointment letters and upload documents into appointment system.
Special Projects/Other
  • Assist with special projects and assignments as requested. Provide input and brainstorm with the F&A team to deliver results that meet the needs of our numerous stakeholders.


Minimum Qualifications

Here’s what you need to bring along:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1-2 years relevant experience OR Associate’s degree in and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • You can see the big picture but also enjoy the details
  • You are able to communicate clearly and professionally with various campus partners (faculty, students, staff)
  • You are an excited learner and looking for a growth opportunity
  • You are a good team player but can also work independently
  • You must be efficient with Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources and 1-2 years of relevant experience
