Associate Professor/Professor - Endowed Chair in Family Business

University of Vermont

Job Description

The University of Vermont seeks outstanding, innovative, and engaged scholars to join Grossman School of Business (www.uvm.edu/business) as a Grossman Endowed Chair in Family Business at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Applicants in all areas of family business are welcome to apply. Of particular interest are scholars and educators whose topical interests overlap with accounting, business analytics, finance, international business, marketing, and sustainability. This will be a full-time, tenure-track/tenured appointment with a flexible start date, potentially as early as August 2022.
Our ideal candidate has published in FT 50 or ABS 4 and 4* journals, is experienced in developing and teaching innovative courses in family business at graduate and undergraduate levels, has contributed to the development and delivery of experiential learning activities like case or pitch competitions, and is active contributor in professional conferences and journals. Overall, candidates should demonstrate a longer-term potential to build the research reputation and impact of the School, teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, develop innovative new courses and extra-curricular experiential initiatives, inspire students both inside and outside the classroom, and develop stakeholder relationships both inside and outside of the School and University. To enable these strategic contributions, this chaired position offers a reduced teaching load, discretionary research funds, and AACSB competitive salary and benefits.
About the School
The Grossman School of Business has 30 tenured and tenure-track faculty from multiple disciplines, augmented by very experienced, professionally qualified non-tenure-track faculty and staff, and is home to over 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Our undergraduate degree program provides a distinctive focus on three interdisciplinary themes: Global Business, Sustainable Business, and Entrepreneurship. The School has two very successful graduate programs: Sustainable Innovation MBA (SI-MBA) and Master of Accountancy (MAcc). Reflecting our school’s entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit, our faculty actively collaborate in their teaching and research with faculty in other UVM colleges and schools, cross-campus interdisciplinary initiatives such as the Gund Institute for the Environment, plus the UVM Medical Center that shares our campus.
