Program Coordinator - Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Job Description

The Program Coordinator serves as a key member of the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation's team and is responsible for communication and outreach efforts of Hynes Institute programs across campus and beyond. In addition, this role will have general administrative duties. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director and will work collaboratively with the entire team to ensure that students are at the forefront of the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Iona.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Managing all communication channels, including internal and external communities.
  • Develop and execute creative outreach campaigns on campus and online to build awareness about the Hynes Institute and drive participation in curricular and co-curricular programs.
  • Develop content and manage the Hynes Institute's communication channels (e.g., newsletters, flyers, webpage, press releases, and social media).
  • Design marketing and promotional collateral for Hynes Institute programs, events, and activities (e.g., pamphlets, custom promotional items, banners, mailers, etc.)
  • Assure proper alignment of college and institute branding and mission within all communication and student recruitment and outreach efforts under the direction of the assistant director.
  • General administrative support duties (e.g., organizing and filing documents, maintaining databases, reconciling purchase card expenses)
  • Receptionist functions of Hynes Institute (answer phones/emails)
  • Schedules and organizes activities such as meetings, travel, conferences, and department activities for all members of the Hynes Institute.

Required Skills
Bachelor's degree required.

Required Experience

  • Development and management of outreach and communication efforts, including building and engaging communities on social media.
  • Experience working within an entrepreneurship education environment in higher education preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, writing skills, and interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with content creation software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator) and content and community management tools (e.g., HootSuite, closed social networks, Facebook, MailChimp).
