Adjunct Professor of Business Statistics
Job Description
The Department of Management & Business Analytics in the Leo J. Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College invites applicants for an Adjunct Professor of Business Statistics. This is a one-semester position for Spring 2023 with the potential for extension. The selected candidate would join the business school consisting of approximately 30 full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students. This is an on-campus position, and a qualified candidate must teach on the physical Stonehill College campus
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWe seek applicants with experience / interest in teaching statistics, especially to undergraduate business students. The course sections available are (candidates can teach one or more sections):
- BUS 206 – Quantitative Analysis: Monday – 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
- BUS 206 – Quantitative Analysis: Tuesday – 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
- BUS 206 – Quantitative Analysis: Wednesday – 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Education and/or Experience
- Candidates must hold: 1.) a master’s degree and have current related professional experience OR 2.) a doctoral degree.
- Experience teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesCandidates must be able to teach an introductory business statistics course that covers the following topics:
- summary statistics
- graphs and visual displays of data
- probability and probability distributions
- correlation and regression (simple and multiple)
- confidence intervals and hypothesis testing
- chi-square
Knowledge of SAS and/or SAS Studio is beneficial.
