Job Description
The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the execution and management of all online & print communications, including managing all Foundation websites. Implements communication strategies involving the website, email communications, and social media
and has a strong knowledge of best practices in digital communications. Works in concert with the COO and other Directors of the Foundation to ensure coordinated, timely, and strategic messaging.

The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications reports to the Chief Operating Officer of the Foundation. The Associate Director works closely with the other Directors at the Foundation, Philanthropy Officers, as well as external partners.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Implements the Foundation’s vision, including short-term and long-term plans for the communications and marketing programs and its activities; monitors progress and evaluates performance
• Raise the visibility of the Kean University Foundation and support the fundraising and alumni engagement efforts, including a strong social media program
• Ensure the organization’s key messages are distributed across all channels to meet engagement and fundraising goals
• Lead and prioritize the Foundation’s marketing efforts by developing and implementing digital and print marketing and communication, social media plans; and creating an advertising strategy
• Oversees market research and market data analytics; produces print and electronic publications; utilizes media sources and implements it effectively; supervises brand strategy; analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of all communications strategies; streamlines and aligns the look of communications
• Foster strategic, targeted communications in order to build and expand relationships with all constituencies that contribute to the Foundation’s success: students, faculty, alumni, and the media
• Coordinate the design and management of the Foundation’s website to ensure consistency and up-to-date information across all sites
• Support the communications needs of the Foundation and the leadership team
• Responsible for the development of the monthly newsletter content and manages the layout and distribution
• Provides support for fundraising events
• Implements marketing standards and protocols, including brand guidelines and messaging
• Provides proofreading and editing support for all printed and electronic communications to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality
• Other duties as assigned, including attendance at night or weekend events

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or combination of education and experience as appropriate
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a related position
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter
• Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner and in collaboration with others
• Analytical thinking capacity
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Proficiency with HTML and website software
• Proficiency in Google Analytics and SEO
