- Provide administrative and operational support for millions of dollars of scholarships and loans for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Apply knowledge of financial aid, the working knowledge of specialized tasks and responsibilities, and an understanding of federal, state, and institutional policies to successfully execute the duties and responsibilities of the position and functions in a mindset of continuous process improvement.
- Support graduate and professional aid programs and systems, researching cost of attendance recommendations, analyzing financial aid applications, determining eligibility for assistance from institutional, federal, and other programs, evaluating satisfactory academic progress status, entering department scholarship awards, and auditing reports, including the disbursements report and the outstanding balance report.
- Collaborate with colleagues on the loan team, scholarship team, and award entry team and provide back-up support in the areas of federal and private loan processing and scholarship programs using internal and external systems.
- Complete on-going review of the financial aid website content for graduate and professional programs to ensure the content clear, reflects current policy, and meets Federal Consumer Right-to-Know regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
- Three to four years’ prior experience is required in a higher education setting, financial aid office, or a financial-related area.
A successful candidate must
- demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail, the ability to solve problems and think critically within the context of a complex business process, and possess knowledge and successful use of technology, including the ability to recommend ways to increase effectiveness and efficiency of communication and operations
- be able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet operational goals, and provide information in a pleasant, personal, articulate, and professional manner;
- be able to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive matters discreetly;
- have the ability to utilize a customer service approach to problem solving and maintain complex technical rules in support of business processes;
- have knowledge of technology, including the ability to see how technology can increase effectiveness of communication to financial aid applicants;
- have a high degree of attention to detail, organizational skills, and critical thinking skills; and
- be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- have strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written, to effectively communicate with a diverse group of individuals and to provide excellent customer service to students and parents;
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP software (e.g., Ellucian, PeopleSoft, Slate) as well as other application software is preferred but not required.
