Postdoctoral Position in Cryo-EM Structural Studies of Amyloids and Prions

Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Witold K. Surewicz in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Case Western Reserve University to participate in research projects exploring structural properties of amyloid fibrils, prions and related protein aggregates using cryo-EM as a primary tool [Li, Q, Babinchak, WM, Surewicz, WK, Cryo-EM structure of amyloid fibrils formed by the entire low complexity domain of TDP-43, Nature Commun 12: 1620 (2021); Li Q, Jaroniec, C.P., Surewicz, W.K., Cryo-EM structure of disease-related prion fibrils provides insights into seeding barriers, NSMB 29, 962 (2022)]. Highly motivated recent Ph.D. graduates with experience in structural biology and protein biophysics are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in cryo-EM is desirable but not mandatory.
