Postdoctoral scholar

Job Description


The laboratory of Dr. Anthony Zannas at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks one or more talented postdoctoral fellows interested in studying the epigenetic mechanisms linking psychosocial stress with inflammatory signaling and coronary heart disease. The successful candidate(s) will work in a highly collaborative and well-funded (through NIH grants) interdisciplinary environment that brings together large-scale epigenomic analyses in human cohorts (data from >30,000 participants) with mechanistic experiments in immune cell models of atherosclerosis. The position offers flexibility to employ a combination of computational and/or bench lab approaches, according to the fellow’s research background and interests. MD and/or PhD in biology, medicine, statistics, or related field is required. Previous experience in cell and molecular biology methods, familiarity with computational epigenomic approaches, and record of scholarly accomplishments are preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience.
