What we want  

Texas A&M Health is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as members of the Texas A&M School of Public Health, Department of Health Behavior. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will assist Dr. Lei-Shih Chen with coordinating social and behavioral research projects in Public Health Genomics, Cancer Prevention, and/or health disparities. This individual must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. Required Education:

  • Appropriate PhD

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data collection, management, and analysis skills

  • Excellent scientific writing skills

  • Excellent computer abilities and language skills in English

  • Excellent communication skills and be able to work as a team player

  • Being detailed-oriented and patient

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • PhD in public health, health education, psychology, sociology, education, anthropology, or related fields 

  • Experience in grant management and having prior work experience in grant-funded projects

  • Published at least two peer-reviewed articles

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination Duties - Coordinating and managing tasks and time line associated with research project.

  • Data Collection - Managing and analyzing data gathered for research projects. Conduct social and behavioral science research projects in Public Health Genomics, Cancer Prevention, and/or health disparities (please refer to hpg.tamu.edu to learn about the research work in the Health Promotion and Genomics Lab.)   

  • Writing Duties - Writing manuscripts, abstracts, and reports related to research project. Perform other duties as assigned.
