Job Description
The Bioinformatics group in Radiation Oncology Branch, NCI, NIH has an opening for a postdoctoral position.
Research focus:
- Research on the bioinformatics project focuses on database modeling, web-based tool development and applying integrative bioinformatics, genomics and computational systems biology approaches to identify and characterize radiation response of gene regulation and function of genes involved in multiple cancer types.
Selection criteria:
We are looking for a candidate interested in working on the following projects:
- development of web-based bioinformatics tool kit for integration of clinical, multi-omic molecular data and results of related studies from literature that will allow interactive access to query, download (using SQL queries) and analyze data including data visualization by pre-defined scripts written in R-statistical program.
- integrating gene expression with genome wide association data to infer causal association between gene expression and radiation response in cancers.
Qualification:
The candidate must have a Ph.D in any of the following: Computational biology, bioinformatics, mathematical biology, or computer science with specialization in algorithm development.
