Job Description:

The Aviation Airframe Mechanics Instructor position is an 11-month tenure-track faculty position with a start date of January 2023, though a different start date may be negotiated.  The successful candidate will develop the Aviation Airframe Mechanics and Aviation Powerplant Mechanics programs and courses and will teach courses in the programs once students are admitted.  This position requires effective teaching of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission.  The instructor will prepare course plans and materials, effectively deliver course content, monitor student attendance and progress, participate on departmental and college committees, support activities that foster retention and completion, perform the assessment of student learning outcomes, and take part in other service and professional development activities.  This position reports to the Director, Workforce Education. 

Minimum Qualifications: Earned certificates in the areas of Airframe and Power Plant Mechanics, FAA licenses in Aviation Airframe Mechanics and Aviation Powerplant Mechanics, and at least six years of full-time experience or equivalent part-time experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance or a closely-related field.

SALARY RANGE: $42,034.00 - $48,034.00 for an 11-month contract with certificates, an associate degree, or a bachelor’s degree.

Pay Details:

Faculty members hired with less than three years of related experience shall be placed on the salary schedule as follows:

?164 Day Base (2022 - 2023)

  • Bachelor's or Less - $35,000
  • Master's - $37,750
  • Master's Plus - $39,500
  • Doctorate - $42,500

All degree classification levels add the appropriate dollars (up to $6,000) for years of credited experience to the annual salary figures above to determine entry salary.
