Job Description:

The Gallery Coordinator is a 12-month professional/managerial staff position with an anticipated start date of January 06, 2023. The Gallery Coordinator is responsible for the operation of the College galleries, including the Permanent Collection and all exhibitions in the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts. In addition, the Gallery Coordinator  will serve as the Instructor of Record for one academic course per semester. The Gallery Coordinator manages the budget and collections, scheduling and programming, marketing and promotion, and outreach for the galleries as well as day-to-day operations. The Gallery Coordinator may be required to travel in-district and out of district and may be required to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends. This position reports to the Department Head, Visual Arts.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a master’s degree in Art History or Museum Studies or a Master’s degree in a related field and at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in discipline. Successful results of a background check are required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Master in Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Studio Arts or a Doctoral degree (PhD) in Art History or related field.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.  Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position.  A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

Salary Range:
$35,000 - $45,000 (12-month contract with master’s degree)
