The Academic Relations Specialist will provide support to Purdue University Global’s School of Business and IT. Job Summary:

The Academic Relations Specialist partners with the Deans, Academic Department Chairs, and other staff members to further the mission of the School of Business and IT. This position is responsible for effectively resolving student related issues by enforcing University's policies and procedures.


 

What to expect in this role:

  • Works with Department Chairs and Faculty to identify potential withdrawals and actively assist in the retention effort of students.
  • Independently investigates student and/or school-specific issues; research student issues and prepares accurate summary/recommendations for action by management.
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of the organization, policies, and procedures to make minor decisions, exercising independent judgment.
  • Implements project plans and ensure that deadlines are met; communicating and coordinating with other departments to accomplish project goals.
  • Assists management team as needed with relevant research materials and report analysis.
  • Maintains school email accounts and communications on behalf of Deans, Associate and Assistant Dean.
  • Monitors all social media sites for the School.
  • Supports event planning from inception to completion, including development of web strategies to promote events, overall event management, and general event outreach initiatives.
  • Aids in the design and content development of internal and external student facing communication products with the use of Adobe Connect, PowerPoint presentations, print and web-based content.

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.)
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience; experience in a student advising capacity preferred.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point), as well as google applications such Gmail and Hangout.
  • Excellent oral and written communication; interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual environment with light supervision.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Proficiency in SharePoint, Access preferred.
    • Advanced Adobe Connect Pro, and Video experience preferred.

Additional Information:

  • The target salary for this position is $53,000.
