The Position

The Post-Doctoral Fellow will provide technical expertise in supporting the development of machine learning efforts within protein and peptide design and prediction. This limited-term post-doctoral fellowship will design and execute experiments, ensuring data integrity, and communicating results across the organization and to external collaborators. The Post-Doctoral Fellow may represent the organization to the external scientific community through publication and presentation of research and through participation in external collaborations. This post-doctoral fellowship will be for 2 years with the possibility to extend one additional year pending projects.

 


Relationships

Reports to of the director of the computational drug discovery department. This position will work under the supervision of CDD scientists and in close collaboration with other project teams in Seattle, Indianapolis and around the globe. Communicates data externally when required. Individual Contributor: does not manage other employees or contingent workers.

 


Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement, and test machine learning algorithms to design or predict peptides
  • Benchmark cutting-edge machine learning algorithms for peptide design and prediction
  • Collaborate, discuss, and learn from scientists across Novo Nordisk
  • Represent machine learning for peptide design and prediction internally and with external collaborators
  • Prepare and present research in top-leading journals or conferences

 


Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree required. Degree within machine learning or data science preferred
  • Little or no post-doctoral or other relevant experience can be considered
  • Relevant required experience includes computational biology, chemistry, or physics
  • Preferred experience includes: Experience a strong knowledge of machine learning for peptides or small molecules preferred. Experience with machine learning, deep learning, and advanced statistics. Knowledge of structural modelling of proteins or peptides preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
