Job Summary
The AACSB-accredited Craig School of Business in the College of Business and Professional Studies at Missouri Western State University is searching for a full-time Professor of Practice in Accounting (non-tenure track) to join their team starting in Academic Year 2023-24. Qualified candidates should demonstrate content expertise, accountancy experience, and knowledge of the CPA exam requirements.
The Craig School of Business is committed to providing students with a strong foundation of business knowledge and applied learning experiences skills through five BSBA degrees, as well as both online and traditional MBA degree programs with concentrations in Engineering Technology, Management, Forensic Accounting and General Business. Nonacademic units integral to the Craig School of Business includes the Center for Entrepreneurship, the Center for Franchise Development, and the Center for Workforce Development.

Interested applicants should have relevant teaching experience, and hold either a Ph.D. in Accounting or a relevant Master’s degree with 18 graduate credits in accounting. A CPA with professional experience in the field is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching undergraduate courses such as Accounting Techniques, Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Income Tax, and Auditing. Experience in graduate courses including Foundations of Finance and Accounting, Auditing, and Business Taxation is preferred. Faculty course assignment depend on both University and College needs and AACSB accreditation requirements.

Essential Job Duties
The ideal candidate for this position prioritizes dynamic instructional environments that promote positive, interactive, and inclusive learning experiences for all students.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s in Accounting or closely related field with a minimum of 18 credits in Accounting
  • Experience teaching undergraduate or adult learners

 


Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or AACSB-accepted terminal Degree in Accounting or closely related field
  • CPA
  • Substantial experience in business and industry in accounting or closely related field
  • Experience teaching courses such as Accounting Techniques, Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Income Tax, and Auditing. Experience in graduate courses including Foundations of Finance and Accounting, Auditing, and Business Taxation is preferred.
  • Success working with students or employees as an advisor, mentor, or internship supervisor

Physical Demands
