Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Robert H. Smith School of Business’ QUEST Honors Program seeks to hire a Program Coordinator. The QUEST Honors Program brings together 270 undergraduate students from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, A. James Clark School of Engineering, and College of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences to work in multidisciplinary teams on experiential learning projects. QUEST is a three-year program through which students take five courses and participate in co-curricular activities. The incumbent will be tasked with coordinating daily operations, planning events and orientation, spearheading admissions, advising students and student organizations, and assisting the program staff and faculty as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:


Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience
  • Two years of experience planning, organizing, prioritizing, and executing assignments without instructions or experience working with high-achieving students.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, customer service, communication and stress-tolerance skills
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Ability to build rapport with a variety of individuals at all levels inside and outside of the University (e.g., Faculty, Students, Staff, Top Management, Campus/Corporate Officials, Alumni, Vendors, etc.)
  • Ability to handle challenging situations
  • High level of self-directedness and proactive orientation
  • A self-starter with a strong learning orientation and flexibility
  • Willingness to speak up and offer novel ideas for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the QUEST Honors Program
  • Takes the initiatives to find information as needed to solve problems
  • Has a student-centric mindset
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to focus on tasks in an environment that is surrounded by ongoing activity

Preferences:


Preferred Education
  • Masters degree in higher education, student affairs, or a related field preferred.
