Job Summary

Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is looking for a full-time, Administrative Specialist.   The Administrative Specialist performs administrative office support and office coordination. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to reception support, greeting incoming guests, directing students, answering phones, maintaining supplies, and distributing mail.  

To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus.

Essential Functions

45% Serves as the main point of contact for the Administration Office. Practices and provides support to college and departmental policies and procedures and is responsible for greeting guests, answering questions, and directing foot traffic.

20% Updates and maintains schedules, calendars, and related meeting materials

15% Prepares, retrieves, updates, and maintains routine and non-routine correspondence, reports, documents, records, logs and files according to specific work direction and established standards and procedures of record-keeping systems.

10% Reviews and verifies the accuracy and consistency of information, data, records, and other assignment-related transactions, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines

5% Monitors supplies inventory, orders supplies, and/or processes and monitors supply requisitions

5% Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one (1) year of clerical, administrative office support or related experience.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and three full-time equivalent years of clerical, administrative office support or related experience.

 

Desired Qualifications

  1. Experience working in an educational institution
  2. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Google Suites 
  3. Experience working for higher level executives
  4. Experience working in customer service
  5. Experience working in an office setting
  6. Effective written communication, composing standard office communications, as demonstrated in cover letter and resume

Special Working Conditions

  • Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.
  • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
  • This position requires a physical presence on campus
