Wytheville Community College is seeking a Coordinator of Student Support Services (Project Aim) to begin working on January 1, 2023. The successful candidate will be responsible for effective management and supervision of the program and staff to ensure that it meets the established goals, objectives, and federal guidelines. This is a federally funded grant position working with low-income, first-generation and disabled college students. Continuance of the position will be determined by successful grant funding.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree required in administration, higher education, counseling or related field from an accredited college or university;
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in designing, implementing and/or directing an educational or training program; preferably a TRIO program;
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in budget management, staff supervision, grant writing, compilation and analysis of data and program evaluation and reporting and compliance with federal regulations;
Knowledge of academic advising services; development of individualized service plans, career development; financial aid; disability services (ADA compliance), financial literacy services and programming for low-income and disadvantaged college students;
Knowledge of computer database and tracking systems;
Ability to provide leadership and establish positive, effective working relationships; and
Knowledge of barriers to postsecondary education faced by low-income and potential first-generation college students.

 

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in higher education;
Experience working with target population;
Supervisory experience; and
Experience working in a TRIO or similar program.
