- Bachelor’s degree and four years’ experience directly within information technology field OR Associate’s and six years, or combination of education and experience equal to eight years.
- A minimum of 2 years must be shown in the following areas: working with transactional database (SIS, ERP) , using query/analytic tools. (SQL, Uniquery, T-SQL) , creating complex SQL queries that include nested queries and joins, creating solutions via scripting language (JSON, XML PowerShell, .Net, Python, SQL, etc), writing complex business reports with the ability to provide meaningful data analysis summary to decision makers, designing data visualization and/or Infographics to support decision makers, analyzing large volume datasets for the purpose driving insights and improving business outcomes, normalizing and transforming data and ensuring data integrity, leading critical application implementations/upgrades and providing support, implementing and supporting data integrations between systems, and the use of basic statistics from business analyst perspective for purpose of analyzing data.

This position is focused on the delivery of enterprise data and application services with a focus on leveraging data and the integration of applications for improved decision making to support college-wide outcomes. This position is expected to engage proactively and regularly with assigned business units and have comprehensive understanding of business objectives, applications and data workflows.
Specific job duties may include:
• Acquire subject business matter expertise needed to conduct analysis through collaboration with business experts, external partners and research.
• Complete data mapping functions and interpret database schemas.
• Develop advanced SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and/or calculate information to fulfill data and reporting requirements.
• Architect and automate data file transfers
• Retire legacy tools and implementation of new technologies, such as iPasS
• Seek opportunities to improve data integration to support the College need for wholistic view of data.
• Participate in data and enterprise application governance and adhere to data management standards, internal processes and industry best practices.
• Monitor and identify opportunities in processes that impact data integrity and recommend solution to close the gaps.
• Perform operations to support and enhance the use of Colleague, Business Objects/Webi, and/or other enterprise applications to support College and/or business units.
• Lead implementation/upgrade/change of an enterprise application from testing plans to implementation of work
• Work with vendors to translate business needs and facilitate resolution
• Organize and document work to maintain excellent communication across technical team of data analysts for cross coverage purposes and maintain excellent communication with assigned business unit(s)
• Work closely with data stewards/stakeholders and use understanding of specific business needs and challenges to identify opportunities for process improvements with data and applications
Duty/Responsibility
This role analyzes data as part of a team and continuously digs into the data with the goal of providing business insights to support decision makers within departments/business units and the College. The data analyst position is expected to examine business performance, identify data patterns and trends, and provide insights to enhance business decision-making capability in business planning, process improvement, and solution assessment. Based on analysis of the data, this role performs quantitative and qualitative analyses and recommends actions to support operational improvements and strategic business opportunities.
Specific job duties may include:
• Identify, explore, and assess data sets.
• Ask questions and discover value within the data sets to support decision makers.
• Engage with variety of report requestors to define business need and ensure value is delivered with data analysis report
• Interpretation of data and analyze results using basic statistical techniques
• Develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies to optimize use of data
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources
• Create Webi reports that highlight data analysis and data summary
• Perform QA/QC audits on data analysis reports written by self and others to ensure transparency, cross coverage and adherence to internal standards and industry best practices
• Design data visualizations/dashboards to illustrate current operational trends and/or predict future patterns and trends
• Use data to create models that depict trends and continuously seek opportunities for data process improvements in reporting analysis and analytics for assigned business unit(s) and for the College
