Overview

The Research Project Manager, Informatics & Analytics manages the day-to-day activities of technical research projects to ensure deliverables are on-time and on-budget. This position supports activities such as project planning and control, meeting coordination, stakeholder management, project documentation, project management tasks, and resource management.  We are looking for someone motivated and dedicated to the fight against Cancer.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages day to day project activities, ensuring deliverables are met, and risks are identified, assessed, managed, and resolved.
  • Develops project plans and schedules that represent the appropriate level of detail and task interdependency.
  • Facilitates sessions with the stakeholders, vendors, and project team members to define, prioritize and plan projects.
  • Leads the allocation of resources, resource forecast, scheduling, and tasks assignments by following proven project management practices.
  • Assists with the management of project artifacts, meeting facilitation, meeting notes, action items, task scheduling, issue/risk management, lessons learned, resource management, and project administration.
  • Leads and facilitates customer acceptance and validation efforts, including testing and data validation, to ensure challenges/discrepancies are identified, documented, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Assists in coordinating timelines and facilitating communication, as needed, with direction from leadership.
  • May review and analyze reports within industry to help inform project strategy.
  • Maintains respectful, supportive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Complies with DFCI and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business and technology, computer science, applied mathematics, finance, or related field; Master’s degree/MBA preferred.
  • 3 years of IT project management experience required, preferably in a healthcare environment, or in the fields of artificial intelligence, data science, data warehouse, or other technical area.
  • Demonstrable experience successfully managing multiple timelines and work deliverables on-time and on-budget, with progressively more responsibility over time.
  • Experience as an Agile / Scrum Coach preferred.
  • Project Management Certification (PMI-CAPM, PMI-PMP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with software development teams, healthcare best practices, regulations and compliance, and quality assurance techniques.
  • Knowledge of clinical informatics, information systems, and hospital operations strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, their dependencies, timelines, and to prioritize accordingly.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of productivity tools such as Smartsheet, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, MS Word and Excel, Zoom, Project, Visio, and collaboration software (e.g., MS Teams, Wiki, One Drive, Dropbox, Confluence).
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and organization skills.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively conduct meetings and to lead and facilitate working sessions, both formal and informal, including departmental and clinical/research user meetings.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivery of high-quality customer service, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrix environment with direct access to clients (e.g., Physician Scientists, Researchers, Oncologists, etc.).
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
