Posting Summary | Under the direction of the Chancellor and the Chief of Staff, the Senior Executive Associate provides direct strategic executive level administrative support to the Chancellor, Rutgers University-Camden. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and critical thinking ability, with exceptional planning, coordination, and communication (both written and verbal) skills. In addition, the incumbent will manage the day-to-day operation of the support activities, special events, and scheduling of the Office of the Chancellor and they will provide executive level administrative support to the Chancellor. They will also be the liaison between the Chancellor and members of the Chancellor’s cabinet, key university leaders, development contacts and donors, and business leaders in the community. The Senior Executive Associate will be expected to develop and maintain relationships with numerous colleagues and university partners that support the success of the Chancellor and the Chancellor’s Office. The Senior Executive Associate is also responsible for the direct management and supervision of the administrative staff that provide support to the Chancellor’s Office and some leadership within, specifically Senior Vice Chancellors and Vice Chancellors. They will manage the day-to-day operations of the Chancellor’s Office and those support staff, ensuring that priorities are understood, tasks are completed as required and coverage needs are met. This position will be expected to maintain high levels of professionalism and discretion at all times. The incumbent will need to confidently and consistently exercise independent judgement and decision-making to adjust to frequently changing priorities, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and prioritize the needs of the Chancellor and Rutgers University–Camden. |

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement | Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility . Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine . Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience | Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus an additional five years of relevant experience. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | This position must have excellent management and leadership skills. Must be professional and have excellent technical skills, fluency in Microsoft office able to learn other software programs as required. Position requires a high level of discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Decision making skills are essential, with particular importance on abilities to set and maintain priorities. The incumbent must be able to perform at high levels in a fast-paced environment. |
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of five years experience providing executive level administrative support, dealing with complex and time sensitive issues. Experience providing executive level support to academic/higher education administration is desired. |

Physical Demands and Work Environment | The incumbent will maintain regular weekday, daytime business hours but can expect a frequent need for flexibility to work outside of normal business hours to immediately address time sensitive challenges in support of the Chancellor and the Chancellor’s Office. This position requires a fully on-site arrangement. |
