Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The primary responsibility of this position will be to (1) oversee the Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure (APT) process; (2) oversee the periodic faculty review process and to work with faculty on any other matters requiring the attention of the Dean; (3) oversee graduate education efforts in the college and coordinate the graduate programs, working with the CMNS graduate program directors; (4) allocate or oversee Dean’s Fellowships, President’s fellowships, graduate assistant awards, and other supplemental programs; (5) review PCC proposals for graduate courses and programs; and (6) supervise the directors of the MEES graduate program and the Science Academy. This position will also serve as an interface between the college and the university and represent the Dean in appropriate university-wide committees and events.

Success in this role will require initiative and imagination. Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and offices inside and outside the college is essential. It will be particularly important to develop a close working relationship with the offices of the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and the Dean of the Graduate School.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position is only open to faculty member at the rank of professor with tenure in the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences with an active research program, and successful teaching, mentoring, and service experiences.
