Job Summary

Assist prospective students throughout the entire onboarding process. Aids with supporting students with all admissions processes including Apply Texas, testing requirements, meningitis compliance, and new student orientation. Works with new students on initial career, financial, and academic plans. Additionally, the position will support the development, coordination, and implementation of community outreach, recruitment and retention programs and activities.

Demonstrated ability to use appropriate technology in the outreach, admissions, and recruitment process
Bachelor’s degree
Detail-oriented and organized
Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively with multiple priorities
Ability to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate
Excellent record-keeping skills
Ability to take feedback from manager through coaching sessions and then generate positive results
Exemplary computer proficiency including email, internet, and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong public relations skills; demonstrated interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset
Energetic and enthusiastic
Customer-service oriented
Ability to handle fast-paced work environment with interruptions and detail-oriented tasks
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working with higher education database software
Previous higher education student services experience and/or case management experience
Previous experience in outreach and recruitment
Two years of closely related experience
Bilingual language skills

Essential Functions

Initiate and maintain systematic and frequent contact with prospective and new students.
Manage (track and monitor) a caseload of prospective and new students through the application process up to registration.
Perform required clerical work (data entry and documentation) in the department.
Advise prospective students and families about the admissions and enrollment process including, but not limited to information on: MC programs, application, testing requirements, transcripts, immunization, FAFSA, and scholarships.
Proactively follow up with applicants regarding outstanding documents required for registration.
Employ technology and strategies to help students navigate through the enrollment and registration process
Follow communication plan (phone, text, email) to maintain student momentum,
Assist students to overcome enrollment obstacles
Work with Director to develop and implement effective student-centered outreach and recruitment plans that reflect the College’s Mission and Strategic Plan
Attend events and implement outreach efforts including but not limited to: area high schools, MISD schools, TACRAO, community events
Coordinate all student recruitment, on and off-campus
Maintain a demeanor of service, professionalism, and positivity at all times
Strive to meet enrollment goals, conversion rates, and target number of applications submitted
Practice the coaching model to identify student issues and set goals for improvement
Participate and contribute to a creative, dynamic, and productive team culture that delivers excellent customer service and personal attention to students and parents
Participate in professional development appropriate to the functions of the position and professional interests
Be well informed on all MC programs and offerings including university partnerships (general brochure plus campus buildings academics, CE)
Establish and maintain relationships with area school districts, fostering strong relationships between the college and area high school counselors
Support the mission, vision, and values of the College and attend College events and meetings
Other duties as assigned

Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds
Ability to work extended hours as needed
Use of manual dexterity
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
Work mostly performed indoors, some outdoors
Attendance at Midland College or community events will be required
The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
Travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town may be required as scheduled
Must be an eligible driver for Midland College

Security Sensitivity

All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Min Salary

$3,210.83 per month

Max Salary

$3,345.00 per month

Pay Statement

Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
