Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.

The University of Alabama seeks applications for Postdoctoral positions. Successful candidates will hold terminal degrees and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in a research area or areas covered by the College. The College and or hiring department will establish a series of structured merit-based evaluations. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate. Additional qualifications based on assignment.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Candidates will need to have confirmation of successful defense, completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Skills and Knowledge: Expertise in host-pathogen interactions, virology, cell biology, and molecular biology. Experience with protein analysis, nucleic acid analysis, cloning, tissue culture, microscopy, and assay development.
